# Airdrop Mechanics

Each Tharwa airdrop is tied to a Points Season - and each season is structured to reward participation that actually benefits the protocol.

We don't do surprise retroactive giveaways or gamified point farming. Airdrops are structured, publicly tracked, and merit-based. If you're using the system as intended, you'll see that reflected in your points - and later, in your TRWA.

## **Season 1: Genesis - COMPLETED** ✅

Season 1 has officially concluded with the snapshot successfully captured on **October 1, 2025** at block 23479245. The complete methodology and results are available in the [drops-snapshots repository](https://github.com/tharwa-finance/drops-snapshots).

**Final Season 1 Structure:**

1. **Tracked engagement** over 3+ months of protocol usage
2. **Snapshot completed** October 1, 2025 at 00:00:11 UTC (block 23479245)
3. **Allocations calculated** based on transparent methodology
4. **Claims portal** now live at [app.tharwa.finance/drops](https://app.tharwa.finance/drops)

**Season 1 Results:**

* Total allocation: \~2.51 million TRWA (0.125% of community incentives pool)
* thUSD holders: 20% APY equivalent allocation rate
* Curve LP providers: 30% APY equivalent allocation rate
* Multi-token support with allocation stacking
* Linear 3-month vesting from claim date

## **Season 2: Ascension - NOW ACTIVE** 🚀

Season 2, named "Ascension," is now live and tracking participation. The season is currently running under Season 1 criteria, with additional earning mechanisms and features coming soon.

**Current Status:**

* Active and tracking participation
* Following Season 1 earning mechanics (thUSD holding, Curve LP, sthUSD, thBonds)
* Additional features to be announced
* Timeline and snapshot date TBA

## **General Airdrop Framework**

While specific mechanics may evolve with each season, the general structure follows this pattern:

1. **Track engagement** over a fixed season (3 months)
2. **Snapshot point balances** at season close
3. **Convert points into TRWA** based on the season’s emission cap
4. **Distribute TRWA via claim portal**, with optional locking incentives

Airdrop events are not random. They’re announced in advance and tied to measurable activity.

### Allocation Curve

TRWA from each season is distributed along a weighted curve - not 1:1 with points.

This avoids whales dominating the drop and ensures that smaller but consistent contributors are meaningfully rewarded.

Designs may include:

* Weighted brackets that favor sustained engagement
* Caps on maximum allocation per wallet
* Bonus multipliers for early actions or multi-season participation
* Optional boosts for locking or converting to sTRWA

Each season’s model will be disclosed ahead of time, including total emissions and distribution logic.

### Airdrop Oversight

Airdrops in the early seasons - including Genesis - are coordinated by the Tharwa core contributors.

Future community governance via sTRWA may eventually guide:

* Emission caps for each season
* Conversion ratios
* Eligibility criteria
* Seasonal adjustments and exclusions

But for now, the focus is on delivering fair, transparent distributions that reward early alignment - while laying the groundwork for decentralization later.

### Sybil Protection

Each season includes backend sybil resistance logic to protect against abuse, including:

* Wallet clustering and behavioral heuristics
* Anti-bounce LP score modifiers
* Referral abuse detection
* Potential disqualification for known exploit patterns

The intent is to make farming hard - and actual participation worthwhile.
