OTC Marketplace (Coming Soon)

Tharwa is building a peer-to-peer OTC Marketplace that will allow users to trade thUSD, vault tokens, and other protocol assets directly without relying on volatile AMMs or external DEXs.

This OTC system isn’t live yet. It’s part of our roadmap to unlock deeper liquidity, more efficient capital rotation, and new revenue streams for the protocol.

What It Will Enable

The OTC Marketplace is designed to support on-chain, smart contract-based trading of:

  • thUSD ↔ Stablecoins (e.g., USDC, USDT, DAI)

  • Vault Receipt Tokens (ERC-1155) — exit or enter long-dated positions early

  • TRWA and sTRWA — secondary market rotation of governance and yield positions

This creates a flexible, low-slippage trading layer for large users, treasuries, and vault participants.

Why OTC Matters

Automated market makers are efficient for small trades, but quickly break down at size. For structured yield systems like Tharwa’s, users often need to rotate between vaults, exit early, or acquire thUSD in bulk.

The OTC system is designed to support:

  • Early exits from vaults without disrupting peg or DEX liquidity

  • Custom trades and negotiated terms for institutional users

  • Treasury arbitrage to support peg defense and value accrual

  • Transparent on-chain execution via order book-style contracts

It’s not a centralized desk. It’s a smart-contract-driven marketplace built directly into the protocol.

How It Will Work

Once launched, the OTC system will allow:

  1. Listing of Offers Users can post trade offers (e.g., “Sell 100,000 thUSD for 98,000 USDC”).

  2. Taking or Matching Orders Traders can browse and fulfill offers, or the protocol can fulfill them using treasury reserves.

  3. Revenue Flows A small fee (planned at 2%) will be charged on OTC trades. These fees flow back to the protocol treasury or are shared with TRWA stakers.

  4. Secondary Liquidity for Vaults Users holding ERC-1155 vault tokens will be able to list them for sale before maturity.

Status & Timeline

The OTC marketplace is part of Phase 2 of Tharwa’s product roadmap. We’re finalizing the smart contract architecture and UI now, with audit and launch planned after vault maturity liquidity reaches critical mass.
